Smart Toilet FAQ
Which smart toilet suits a home with low water pressure?
Both KARTNERS intelligent toilets use their own pressure system for flushing (the ZNMT001 has a built in pressure tank), which makes them a practical choice for homes where water pressure is low or inconsistent.
What is the difference between the KARTNERS ZNMT001 and ZNMT002?
Both have UV nozzle sterilisation, an automatic lid, rear, feminine and massage washing, a heated seat, warm air drying and a remote control. The ZNMT001 adds foot sensor operation, automatic flushing, aromatherapy deodorising and an LED display. The ZNMT002 has a quiet soft close seat and lid and is slightly shallower at 400mm deep.
Will an intelligent toilet fit my existing drain?
Measure your set out first. The KARTNERS models suit an S-trap set out of 90 to 220mm or a P-trap at 180mm. The KOHLER Veil wall hung model also needs a compatible in-wall cistern and frame. For both KOHLER models, confirm the set out, water, electrical, clearance and backflow requirements with your plumber before ordering.
Should I choose a wall hung or wall faced toilet?
A wall hung toilet is suspended from the wall and leaves the floor area clear, but it needs a compatible in-wall cistern and frame. A wall faced toilet sits on the floor with its back against the wall. The choice usually depends on the look you want and what your bathroom renovation allows.
Does a smart toilet need a power point?
Yes. Smart toilet seats and intelligent toilets need a compliant power supply close by, and electrical and plumbing connections should be completed by suitably qualified tradespeople in line with current New Zealand requirements.
